Cooking tips for working women

 

Always plan your breakfast and lunch in the previous night itself and do the chopping and storing in the previous night. Believe me, this will reduce most of your morning tension and fetch you some time for your extra sleeping 😉 For chopping and storing tips, please click here.

Even if the things are ready to be cooked, the cooking process will take it’s own time, like boiling, frying, waiting for the mustard to crackle, mixing the ingredients in the middle of the cooking….Gosh!!.. That will take all our breath.

Though the cooking has to be done in its own time I have some hacks to cook the dishes sooner than the actual time. I learnt it from my mom and other websites to handle my morning hurry-burry time. Here are some tips.

  1. Adding salt to the onions will reduce the time to saute them.
  2. Similarly, adding salt to the vegetables will cook then soon.
  3. Add only needed water to cook. If the water is more than the required amount, it takes much time, first to boil the water and then to cook the vegetable.
  4.  Learn to cook all the variety rice recipe which can be done in 15 min time.
  5. Variety rice like peas pulao, Carrot rice, capsicum rice, Chickpea (konda kadalai) rice, coconut rice, Veg pulao, mango rice are some of the healthy lunch dishes that can be cooked in short time.
  6. If you want to cook rice and the vegetables for the curries, in a pressure cooker,  wash and keep rice with water in a vessel, above that the vegetables to be cooked in another vessel. This will save time to cook the veggies separately.
