Storage Tips for Working women

Believe me!! Perfect storing of things in its place will reduce both our tension and time. So let me share some of the storage tips I follow.

Veggie Storage in fridge:

Store each vegetable in separate transparent covers/zip lock bags in your refrigerator.  So that it will be easy for you to take the desired vegetable at the needy time. If not you have to spend few min in picking up the vegetable from the scattered and mixed up mess.

Chopping and storing:

Cut the needed vegetables the night before. Store them in separate containers. Eg: If I want to prepare sambar and beans thovaran, I will cut the vegetable for sambar and store it in a separate container and will cut the beans and store it in another container.
Also, keep the other small ingredients like onion, tomato, curry leaves, coriander leaves ready in another container or a plate.

Weekend Duties:

Coconut: In the weekends or when you find time, you can shred the coconut and store it in a air tight Tupperware box in your fridge. Coconut will be good for atleast one week in this condition. You can use it whenever necessary.
GarlicSame way you can peel the garlic and store it in a air tight box or zip lock bag in fridge.
Batches of batterKeep the idly/dosa batter ready in fridge for instant use. I used to grind the idly/dosa batter for a week in the weekends. This will be reducing half of my morning tension.

Utensils…Washing…Taking more time?

Wash and keep the utensils (which you will be using for next days cooking) ready in the kitchen slab. This might save you the time you search for a utensil in the morning.

Running for water:

Store water in one or two bottles or jars in kitchen. You don’t have to run to take water each time in the morning.
